Ani makes music transcends. Shes one of the reason i play guitar. The way she sings is like a siren; it's infectious and makes you want to sing with your whole soul. Ain't nothing like blasting her music on the highway heading home and screaming out to the stars.

I’m kind of surprised at how many people missed the point of what it’s like to perform a song while being distracted by audience member singing along. It’s only happened to me a few times, and it can get your mind off track… sing my story with your projection at home or wherever, and please! It’s yours there. If I hear you (on or off key), I might miss a moment to change something up, or forget the lyrics, etc. I just watched a live Billie Eilish video w/boygenius. I bet it was great, but the audience sang over them all. I understand the bonding of it - we’ve all done it - but you just watched people move their mouths to your personal sound track and 40K backup singers. That said, I’m 53 and I was lucky enough to see Ani in the early 90s. So good then and now.

Why i am inspired to learn guitar. Thank you Jon Rowley, for encouraging me.

I live in Sydney Australia, and I flew to the cold coast for her concert in Brisbane, this was a concert I'll never forget she was like this performance all night from one start to finish, she bounced around ,changing only a few guitar, absolute incredible artist to see live. arni de franco is her music ,

Just read her autobiography and I seem to recall that 2007 was not a good year for her emotionally. You can't see that on stage, because she is on fire.

The folks at Letterman said, "Please don't do Subdivision. Can you do a peppier song instead?" They really said that. Ani said no and it would be a while before they asked her back. In her autobiography, Ani said, "They never invited her back" but I see her video on RUclips of a Letterman performance, so perhaps she misremembered?

I despise it when the audience sings along. We are not there to hear members of the audience. I wish they would all just shut the fuck up and let the artist sing.

I remember when this DVD came into being. Newly to me at the show that year any who.. o don't I miss those glorious righteous days where love and lust and intensity ruled my skies and I truly believed we were going to change the world. Naivete is a beautiful, confusing son of a gun isn't she.

Ani is my addiction... I love her and yet I have never met her... The way she writes is in depth and bold and I can picture it all... I love the metaphors😁❤️ she's got the most bold beauty I've ever heard... The first time I heard her it was the song not angry anymore off her up up up album.. only I didn't know that or her name even. I was getting a ride and that song opened me up.. I bawled it was the most beautiful song I had ever heard. Been on the look out ever since. Bought 4 albums before I found that song BTW

Not sure I like this arrangement. The musical dialogue with Sickafoose normally works, but here it sounds a bit off to my ears.

Wow. Its true everything does get better with age. This song has always reached out to me, spoken to me (not-so-silently), and now so many years later the message is even stronger. Thank you for creating this amazing anthem.
